Inspired by books, art and films John travelled for many years, before turning seriously to photography. Although he always had an interest, it wasn't until 2000 that he took it up seriously. Since then he has graduated with a BA Honours in Photography from the University of Central Lancashire in 2006 and started his own business, No Borders Photography.
John looks at shapes, surfaces and abstract edges in the city and beyond. The body of his work targets the 'urban experience' and often tries to reveal hints of nature. City decay and the natural regeneration of plants was a fixed subject for him for several years. Amongst his works, there are images that have a painterly quality without aid of digital manipulation. The selection process of these random-like photographs is one that's an ongoing project.
The canvas works on sale here were featured in various projects from 'Architectural Works', 'Walls & Surfaces' and 'Nature etc'. The main project he is currently working on is entitled 'Crossing Borders' which looks at East Europeans in his home city of Preston.
